Commercial  Solicitor (Associate)

 

Caldwell Solicitors, based in Belfast, is a busy, growing construction, procurement, and commercial contracts law firm. We are currently interested in speaking with candidates with experience in commercial contracts.

 

The Role

You will be a qualified Solicitor with approx. 2-5 years experience gained within Construction, Procurement or Commercial Law. Variable levels of PQE will be considered as quality of experience as well as duration of qualification will be considered. Candidates with a real interest in our core areas are likely to excel however, transferrable skillsets will be recognised.


The quality of our work remains at the very height of the legal market and sees us working collaboratively with clients in NI, ROI, E&W and further afield internationally. You will be expected to provide high levels of client care to ensure effective delivery of the firms dedicated service. Visibility when it comes to attending events, speaking at seminars, corporate social activity and business awards will be expected.


The role will offer a blend of: -

  • Contentious and non-contentious construction and/or procurement law matters;

  • Contentious and non-contentious commercial contracts matters;

  • Dispute management including litigation, mediation, adjudication, arbitration, and other ADR processes;

  • Contract drafting, negotiation and advice;

  • Claims analysis and negotiation; and

  • Procurement processes, challenges and EU procurement law issues.

Your experience will ideally demonstrate familiarity with providing sound legal and practical industry advice to a range of clients and be at ease when drafting and reviewing commercial contracts.


There will be limited barriers in your way with regards to the success of this role. There already exists an active caseload of extremely high quality and calibre work for the right candidate. You will be ambitious and driven. You will be intelligent, sensible, attentive to detail, organised, and proactive with an ability to work autonomously as well as having the benefit of guidance and coaching.
