Construction - Procurement – Commercial Solicitor
(Senior Associate +)
Variable levels of PQE will be considered as quality of experience as well as duration of qualification will be taken into account.
We are recruiting for a solicitor to support our office growth. Whilst an impressive work flow is already currently there or secured, the successful candidate will have a keen interest in and flair for business development as the company seeks to expand further. Visibility when it comes to attending events, speaking at seminars, corporate social activity and business awards will be expected and central to this role.
This role would be an ideal post for someone who is keen on the challenge assisting with growing the firm and ‘making a name for themselves’ as a leader in the field of Construction & Procurement law within NI. A following, part-following, or ability to demonstrate that you are well connected within the sector and that you will be able to generate or assist in generating a further client base will be beneficial. The firm will very much support you in doing this. Notwithstanding this, there is still work to service from the outset, so you will be involved with servicing an existing client base to begin with which you will be able to assist in building the practice around.
Exceptional technical skills and first-rate communication abilities are a pre-requisite for the role and it goes without saying that you will have strong academics. You will be commercially astute, self-motivated and be determined to provide the very best client service whilst also being able to demonstrate an exceptional level of commercial awareness when dealing with all aspects of non-contentious building, engineering and construction matters.
Strong business development, networking and marketing skills will be an advantage although the firm will support you in further enhancing these skills to allow you to reach your potential. This is the perfect opportunity for an individual who is keen to secure a fresh challenge and join a practice that can offer a different and innovative way of working. This role will provide you with the freedom and autonomy to grow your practice area.
The quality of our work remains at the very height of the legal market and sees us working collaboratively with clients in NI, ROI and E&W. You will be expected to provide high levels of client care to ensure effective delivery of the firms dedicated service.
The role will offer a blend of Non-Contentious and Contentious matters. Your experience will ideally demonstrate familiarity with providing sound legal and practical industry advice to a range of clients and be at ease when drafting and reviewing contracts and/or procurement documents to include PQQs, ITTs, JCT, NEC, CWMF, Joint Ventures, Bonds/Guarantees and Warranties etc.
On the contentious side, experience with Adjudication, Conciliation and/or Arbitration is desirable and a demonstrative knowledge of procurement challenges and/or Litigation experience beneficial.
There will be limited barriers in your way with regards to the success of this role. You will join a firm that promotes staff autonomy and people well-being. The career development opportunity within this growing firm is also very real and will be in your hands completely.
The reward and salary on offer will be competitive; in addition to the financial gain this will also be a great career move for someone seeking to build their reputation within this area of law.
All applications in the strictest confidence. Enquiries and Curriculum Vitae should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
